Cargo Hangar Celebration Family Ride
Join us for a family fun ride in celebration of Westminster City Council installing the first cargo/adapted cycle hangar!
An all-ages and ability ride finishing at St John’s Wood Adventure Playground with BYO picnic and free cargo bike try out session.
Providing suitable and secure parking solutions is a significant step toward removing a known barrier for more families and Disabled cyclists to opt for cycling some or all of their trips. To express our excitement and gratitude, we are organising a family ride to offer an opportunity for people to see the cargo cycle hangar and try it out. There will also be a chance to try other people’s cargo cycles.
The ride will start from Westminster Wheels in Church Street and travel to the hangar’s location which is outside St John’s Wood Adventure Playground. The venue will be available for outdoor play for the little ones and the inside space for BYO picnic. The ride itself will end around 12pm but the rest of the event will be on until 2pm.
This will be a led ride with marshals suitable for all abilities.
The event will take place between 10am until 2pm on Sunday 28 January 2024.
- 10am: Meet at Westminster Wheels for free Bike Checks before the ride, 41-45 Church Street, NW88ES
- 11am-12pm: Family Fun Led Ride
- 12-2pm: Play and picnic St John’s Wood Adventure Playground: Try the cargo hangar, try a range of cargo cycles, free Dr Bike fixing service for bikes, access to the Adventure Playground inside and out, including Disabled toilets.
ID required for Try a Cargo Cycle with CarryMe Bikes.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Book your place below.
This event is being organised by local residents. The ride is being organised and led by Joyriders, ride mechanical support provided by BromptonHaus, pre and post ride free Dr Bike provided by Westminster Wheels, Try a Cargo Cycle provided by CarryMe Bikes, outdoor play and indoor picnic space provided by St Johns Wood Adventure Playground.
